Morning Chat: DUELLE MUSIC

Morning Chat:
DUELLE MUSIC
By Lady Scribble

I recently had the privilege of interviewing a wonderful duo that is making big strides in the music world. Duelle, the fiery sister group, is considered an Electro-Pop/Hip-Hop group based in Miami. These amazing sisters are clearly not new to the arts and have been competing in the dance world since they were little. They went on to attend one of the top high schools for the performing arts and later finished college with majors in dance. Back in 2008, the duo began working on the Duelle Project, recording original tracks and building up a unique brand. They are so passionate about music and dance that they decided it was time to bring something fresh to the industry by creatively blending both art forms.

Gabrielle and Danielle are definitely names that we should all keep an eye out for. These ladies are here to make their mark on the industry by bringing in something brand new. Innovators, game changers; these two are bound to open doors for others along the way. Check out our morning chat and be sure to keep up with Duelle and follow their journey!!! You’ll be so glad that you did.

LS: Good morning ladies!! Let’s start simple, where did the name “Duelle” come from?

Duelle: Well we are Gabrielle and Danielle so the “Elle” came from our name and “Due” in Italian means two, so that’s where we got “Duelle”.

LS: How has it been transitioning from dancing to singing? Craziness or pretty smooth?

Duelle: We started dancing when we were three and we started signing at about 10 in musicals and stuff. After we finished college we decided to get serious about bringing something fresh to the industry and we hit the studio. But we would die if we couldn’t dance. It’s crazy because in the dance world, your name can only be so big. Like only people who dance would know you. We really wanted to reach a bigger audience. It’s definitely been a struggle trying to fuse the two together

LS: Wow, that’s really amazing!

Duelle: I mean, you don’t hear about a ballerina becoming a singer but we want to inspire people to do it all.

LS: So how exactly would you describe your music?

Duelle: It’s a real futuristic sound that we’re been developing over the years. I guess you would call it Electro-Pop. But to us it’s like Electro-Pop with a Hip-Hop Swag!! We want to change the game. We think it’s funny that we automatically get labeled as “Pop” because we’re white but we rap!! We want to change the way people look at rap artists.

LS: Ha, I like that. Electro with swag, dope.

LS: So what artists influence you guys the most?

Duelle: BRITTANY SPEARS!! And of course GaGa, Nicki Minaj. We really love seeing strong women that aren’t afraid to be different.

LS: What artists are you guys looking to collaborate with in the future? Top 5 artists.

Duelle: Chris Brown (performance wise), Brittany Spears because we would feel like she’s passing the torch to us like Madonna did with her, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj…

LS: Well you guys know I have to ask this, what’s going on with you love life?? You guys dating anyone??

Duelle: Ha ha ha, we’re actually anti-love right now. Like we say we have metal hearts and it totally fits in with the whole robotic theme that we have. Robots with metal hearts. We’ve both had our share of bad relationships so now we’re married to Duelle.

LS: Oh yeah, I can totally relate to that. I love that whole metal hearts thing.

LS: Last question because I don’t want to keep you, what is the legacy that you want leave with Duelle?

Duelle: We want to perform and be known worldwide. We want to continue to build our brand and inspire people with all different forms of art. Through Duelle we hope to show that you can do any and everything if you keep pushing yourself. We just want little girls to look up to us and feel like they can make it because we did. That’s what inspires us to keep pushing.

Dear VH1, F U!!!

Dear VH1, F U!!!
by Lady Scribble

Last night, "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" aired with an opening out of this world. Drinks flying, cursing, crazy females, and an outrageous amount of "Ratchetness" filled up the first episode. And to add icing to the cake, a grand load of infidelity seems to be the main connection of all the women. Speaking of infidelity, the main man of the show, Stevie J (who has worked artists such as Diddy and Mariah Carey) and his girl Mimi, seem to be the Who's Who on the cheating scene. Sneaky man Stevie J tries to surprise is girl Mimi with an amazing house that just happens to be miles away from his studio. SHOCKER!!! Then of course there's Stevie J's artist, Joseline, who in my opinion looks like a horrible version of John Leguizamo in "Too Wong Foo". As cliche as this sounds, even Stevie Wonder could see that there's something going on between these two.

Oh but the plot thickens. It seems that every ghetto induced TV show has some form of a triangle between the guy, his girl and his mother. And this show has just that. Rapper Lil Scrappy, his girl Erica and his mother Momma Dee are going through this insane love triangle, modern day Oedipus Complex. Scrappy and Erica have been on a rollercoaster ride since his very public affair with rapper Diamond of Crime Mob, yet the two seem to be getting things together. But Scrappy's very outspoken mother Momma Dee (who happens to be an ex-pimp) doesn't seem to trust Erica at all and she's not afraid to let him know just that.

Meanwhile, artists K. Michelle and Rasheeda are doing their bests to restart their fallen music careers. K. Michelle very emotionally expresses to the world how an industry executive tricked her out of $2 million and physically beat her. Thankfully, she got away from the bad label deal  and is doing her best to restart her career. Karlie Redd, a Jamaican singer who is trying to make a mark in the music industry, has a meeting with Stevie J to discuss her dreams. Redd is completely shocked when she sees the romantic connection between Joseline and Stevie J, understanding what's been driving Mimi crazy.

As the episode comes to a close (THANK GOD), the entire Stevie J/Joseline/Mimi fiasco comes to an abrupt turn when Karlie tells Mimi that she saw them publicly "making out". I mean honestly, if there were any allegations of me messing with someone, I would NOT sit between that person and my significant other. That's just asking for trouble. But in Stevie's defense, Mimi didn't really seem to care that the girl her man might be messing with was sitting right next to him. Hey, maybe I'm just a different kind of woman. So of course drinks had to fly!! One for the Big Red Dog draped across Joseline's shoulders (her fur vest) and one for Stevie J. But in true male fashion, Stevie ends the night by saying, "I ain't really having a good time." And proceeds to tell Mimi, "That bitch ain't see nothing." Hey, I'm convinced (no not really).

So instead of going home with the woman he claims he love, Stevie hops in the car with Chi Chi, I mean Joseline, and rides off.

Are You Using Social Media Correctly??

Are You Using Social Media Correctly?

Social media channels are a wonderful platform for networking, exposure, branding and to attracting traffic to your website. A well planned social media campaign will give an edge over your competitors. Are small businesses or online businesses using social media correctly? We have put together a few useful tips to help small business owners use social media effectively to reap success.

Effective ways to Use Social Media
  • Put together a social media marketing strategy – If you wish to make social media work for your business, keep aside a certain amount of time to plan social media marketing. Many SMBs dive into social media with little or no strategy at all. What usually happens here is that they tend to spam their users and don’t know how to create brand awareness. When they end up getting no response, they lose interest and finally conclude it was a failure. The success of using social media is determined by a strong marketing strategy to engage your visitors in the content you have published.
  • Be where your target audience are – Spend some time finding out the sites where your target audience spend their time. This will give you firsthand knowledge about where you should post your blogs and make regular updates. Creating awareness is a way of brand building and lead generation.

Michael Ealy Covers Upscale Magazine

Micheal Ealy Covers Upscale Magazine
by Lady Scribble

The always sexy Michael Ealy covers Upscale Magazine, giving us every bit of the hottness we are used to seeing from him!!

Ealy dished to the writers of Upscale Magazine why he doesn't date women who are in the "industry". He says:

“I’ve been done with [dating industry women]. You do it for years and years and years—theater, television, film. It’s a workplace thing... But the difference for me now is that I’m mature enough to know that this is a work thing. The minute we stop production, I’m not going to feel this way anymore.”
He also spoke about his past relationships:

“I think there was a part of me that was just attracted to the crazy. I tended to involve myself with women that brought drama. And I had a bit of a savior complex. I thought I could save them from whatever daddy issues or cheating issues [they had]. In the past, I was definitely known as a guy who took himself and his relationships a little too seriously. I won’t say that I always knew how to have a lot fun."
Well Mr. Ealy, whenever you're ready to stop messing with these "industry ladies", I am waiting for you!!! Oh and just for your looking please, here are a few more gorgeous photos of the handsome Michael Ealy!!!

Is Social Media Beyond A Public Relations Professional’s Skill Set?

Is Social Media Beyond A Public Relations Professional’s Skill Set?

By Steve Farnsworth (@Steveology)

Howard Sewell is hardcore. He knows demand generation and lead management like nobody’s business. What I find amazing about him, and why I have hired and recommended him, is that the latest shiny object never distracts him. While other marketers are casting about for some questionable flash in the pan strategy with a cool buzzwordy name, Howard is laser focused on getting results, and knows what works to connect businesses directly with their target markets.

Which is why I was cheesed-off at Howard when he posted “Is Social Media Wasted on PR Agencies?” on his blog. Having a background working in PR, worked at an agency, and now fully engaged in social media, I felt a bit defensive when I read that headline.

Then I read the post. I could not have agreed more with his insight. He was right again.

Robin Roberts Suffering from Bone Marrow Disease

Robin Roberts Reveals Blood Disorder Diagnosis

Robin Roberts Reveals Blood Disorder Diagnosis
Five years after beating breast cancer, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts is faced with another medical threat — myelodysplastic syndrome, a disease of the blood and bone marrow.

In a very personal letter posted on GMA's website, Roberts explained that her previous cancer treatment caused her current condition. "My doctors tell me I'm going to beat this – and I know it's true," she writes. Despite frightful statistics online, Roberts' doctors say they don't apply to her. She's younger and fitter than most diagnosed with the disease.

Happy birthday Mr. Sexy!!!

Well ladies, LADIES, John Christopher "Johnny" Depp II is 49 years young today.

We fell in love with those big brown eyes back in the 80's when he graced the screen in 21 Jump Street. I personally feel head over heels for Mr. Depp after seeing his range of acting from playing characters like Edward Scissorhands to Sweeny Todd to Jack Sparrow.

How could you NOT love his Jack Sparrow character? I mean, seriously...LOOK:

Ok, maybe it's just me but there was something about that drunken sway and awkward personality that was so attractive.

So, one last time: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. JOHNNY DEPP!!!!
